Hours: Part time, Full-time, Flexible working

The UK Hydrographic Office (UKHO) are seeking a qualified and experienced auditor who can play a key role in our quality management and auditing processes.

About the UKHO

UKHO is an executive agency, sponsored by the Ministry of Defence. We work with a wide range of data suppliers and partners, surveying and charting the world's oceans in order to develop and serve world leading software and data solutions to commercial shipping companies, navies and maritime organisations. Our products ensure safe navigation and global trade efficiency and support other marine activities including economic development, environmental protection, resource exploration and utilisation, scientific research and security and defence.

The role

As a Quality Manager for the UKHO, you will gain a solid understanding of UKHO’s processes and practices and work on developing and promoting the UKHO’s Quality Management System in order to maintain ISO9001:2015 certification. This will include the management of internal audits conducted as part of our internal quality system and developing and promoting quality management governance.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Proposing and agreeing annual internal audits with the Chief Executive
• Managing ISO9001:2015 certification
• Managing a small team of auditors, conducting audits and planning the resourcing of audits
• Recording and tracking progress of corrective actions and escalating to the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee when required
• Providing advice to the business on quality concerns, acting as an independent subject matter expert
• Preparing for and attending Quality Cycle meetings

To be considered, you will need a good working knowledge of audit functions, product safety processes and risk management. Equally important is line management experience or evidence of leading change initiatives, along with SharePoint administration and presentation skills and a good understanding of continuous improvement and how the audit functions work to promote continuous improvement.

In return

UKHO is a great place in which to explore your career potential. While our projects are career-defining, the work/life balance that we can offer you is equally exceptional. From flexitime, flexible working, an award-winning office environment and a generous annual leave allowance of 34.5 days including public holidays, the opportunities open to you here are hard to beat.
