The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for providing technical leadership, advanced training, and instructions on quality measurement systems and procedures for quality area personnel in the manufacturing process. The Quality Assurance Manager will support the Carbon Tech Group with product design responsibility. Along with this, the position will be responsible for the upkeep and optimization of our quality laboratory functions and measurement equipment. The role will also work extensively with production to ensure compliance with customer driven certification requirements for measurement system analysis and documentation.

Support plant safety program by including safety activities in all aspects of the job. Take active or lead role in safety activities such as safety teams, incident investigations, and/or positive safety contacts.
Provide advanced quality aspect training and instruction to operators throughout the plant across all process areas.
Drive customer satisfaction by managing key customer scorecards and other key performance indicator.
Drive reduction in CoPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) through continuous yield improvements and efficiency gains.
Drive both external and internal CAPA/RCFA (Corrective and Preventive Actions/Root Cause Failure Analysis) and ensure their effectiveness.
Drive strategic site-wide plan on improving quality awareness both at the plant and individual levels. Drive integration of quality management system (QMS) to our best business management practices.
Provide ongoing oversight on key waste reduction initiatives in the plant applying Lean Manufacturing principles.
Lead and support strategic process and system development to ensure the sustainability of overall quality initiatives and other related activities in the plant.
Provide ongoing support of the Carbon Tech Group to satisfy APQP requirements, PPAP testing, and product specification design reviews.
Work closely with production to maintain current and accurate control plan and PFMEA documentation.
Active participation in and support of the MOC (Management of Change) process.
Manage and coordinate scheduled Measuring Systems Analysis (MSA)
Insure the measurement equipment verification and calibration system is maintained.
Implement advanced data review and analysis process using SQL database to support daily/weekly metrics reviews, defect cost analysis, and identification of special causes that negatively affect process capability.
Achieve and maintain certification for IATF/ISO 16949.
Provide on-call support for 24/7 operation as required.

What you need to succeed:

BS degree chemistry or engineering required. MS degree preferred.
5+ years of quality management experience required.
5+ years of demonstrated experience in an automotive manufacturing, aerospace or pharmaceutical environment a preferred.
Proficiency with Minitab statistical software, and SAP software preferred.
Must be proficient with MS office tools.
Previous experience managing a team including evaluating performance and coaching for improvement is preferred.
Technical skills, writing skills, communication skills including leading group meetings, training skills, multi-tasking, and use of problem-solving tools.
Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma certification (green belt or higher) is preferred.
