Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented Software Quality Engineer to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland.

The Software Quality Engineer develops, modifies, applies, and maintains standards for software quality operating methods, processes, systems and procedures. Conducts software inspection, testing, verification and validation. Implements software development and maintenance processes and methods. Ensures measures meet acceptable reliability standards. Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives. Ensures that project and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contract. Reviews software design, change specifications, and plans against contractual and/or process requirements. Reviews include applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies. Performs or directs verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or other technical field such as Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science.
9+ years of relevant experience.
Proficiency in software development.
Basic knowledge of programing languages including C/C++ or Java
Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management experience
Solid written and verbal interpersonal, communication skills and confidence to brief senior management with solid foundation in Mission Assurance applications.
Knowledge of statistical analysis methods and techniques.
Possess an active DOD Secret clearance or active DOD Secret clearance with ability to obtain SAP/SAR clearance
Ability to work in cross-functional teams to resolve problems or issues

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

Experience working as a software engineer or software quality engineer
Master's degree or higher in a technical field
Hands-on SW design, development, systems engineering experience or Software development management or (technical) program management experience
Process experience
Six Sigma Green Belt certification or ASQ CSQE certification
Demonstrated experience with CMMI and AS9100 Standards.
