The Successful Candidate
We are looking for someone who can integrate into a project or bid team, supporting all aspects of Quality Assurance. A real team player, we need a Quality Assurance Professional who will strive to support the business to deliver key Military programmes, creating fit for purpose products whilst supporting the teams through difficult project and engineering lifecycle milestones, maintaining the voice of the customer at all times.

Bringing customer focus into programmes, the Quality Assurance Manager will ensure that customer requirements can be met through Quality Planning and be pragmatic in supporting the elimination / mitigation of issues and/or risks within the project and supply chain - working collaboratively and knowing when it is appropriate to escalate.

The Quality Assurance Manager will work closely as part of a Quality team with other QAMs to identify best practices and pursue learning from other projects to the benefit of their programmes. They will ensure that appropriate governance is applied within their project and work alongside the project teams throughout their lifecycles from requirements capture and early solution design, through validation, to platform integration and customer acceptance.

Whilst integrated onto the project team, the QAM will retain a level of independence and will provide an independent view of project quality concerns and/or risks which will be shared with the project teams and reported to senior management on a monthly basis.

Alongside working directly on the project teams, the successful candidate will be part of a core Quality function team, working together to support continuous improvement and ensuring we retain accreditation to AS9100 (including internal auditing.) This will also include facilitation of Root Cause Analysis and Lessons Learnt and ensuring necessary change is embedded. The QAM will promote Quality within the entity, ensuring that all managers and staff are made aware of the QMS and where necessary provide training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality.

Principle Relationships
The jobholder will have to typically collaborate with :
• Heads of Quality and Quality Assurance Managers within the Entity
• Programme and Project Managers & their Project Teams
• Senior Business Managers and Stakeholders

Desirable Experience
• Experience working within Quality Assurance in a project environment
• Knowledge of a product development environment
• Defence industry experience is a positive (but not essential.)
• Proven capability in auditing and process development
• A drive for business transformation and a desire for continuous improvement
