A strong team leader with world-class CI experience required for leading Tier 1 Automotive Components Manufacturer.

This senior leadership position will appeal to a proactive quality management professional with a proven background in the Tier 1 automotive components manufacturing sector. The client is part of a leading international group which designs and manufactures precision components and assemblies for major automotive OEM’s.

This broad ranging role reports to the site Managing Director of a c£65m, 600 employee business and forms part of the site senior leadership team. You will be responsible for leading your team in a proactive, hands on way and operating to the best principles of automotive sector quality management systems and processes, exceeding all customer KPI’s and driving a culture of continuous improvement. There is an established team of c20 quality Engineers, Technicians and Lean Professionals in place and you will develop the quality function and deliver improvements in operational performance through Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques. The role also incorporates significant customer interface at all levels including regular onsite customer visits.

Candidates for this role must have proven experience in leading a quality management function within the Tier 1 automotive components manufacturing sector. Your career may have progressed through an apprentice based training programme or alternatively as a graduate engineer and you will also have had Six Sigma training. You will be experienced in IATF16949, ISO9001 and be totally up to speed with the needs of customers and 3rd parties.

You will be an excellent mentor, team leader and coach and bring the gravitas and strength of character necessary for success in this demanding role. You will also be expected to contribute at Group level with regard to sharing best practice and in conjunction with colleagues in Design and NPI ensure that there are robust processes in place to deliver APQP of the highest standard.
