Primary Location: United States (US) - Iowa (US-IA) - Davenport Function: Quality Engineering Title: Quality Engineer - 44734 Your Responsibilities As a Quality Engineer at John Deere Davenport Works located in Davenport, Iowa, you will own responsibility for quality control of fabrications and paint across several product lines. In addition, you will: * Analyze and drive resolution of product and process non-conformance issues related to fabrication and paint utilizing the 8D methodology * Schedule and lead process audits * Work with Manufacturing Engineers to develop and maintain PFMEA's and drive implementation of reaction plans to high risk items * Establish control limits for key characteristics to ensure good process control * Provide analysis for Continuous Improvement project selection * Monitor product/process deviations required for production while ensuring customer needs are met from a quality and delivery perspective * Participate in Design Process and Assembly Reviews (DPARs), print reviews, and design reviews of new products Visa sponsorship is NOT available for this position. What Skills You Need * Knowledge of Quality Tools such as NCCA (8 discipline problem solving method), QID (Quality in Design), DPAR (Design, Process, and Assembly Review), FMEA (Failure Modes & Effects Analysis) and Root Cause Analysis * Ability to work independently, stay on top of current business conditions, prioritize projects, multi-task and meet deadlines * Experience with engineering print and model interpretation, geometric dimensioning and tolerance * Effective communication skills both oral and written * Knowledge of manufacturing processes What Makes You Stand Out * Experience with Quality Tools such as NCCA (8 discipline problem solving method), QID (Quality in Design), DPAR (Design, Process, and Assembly Review), FMEA (Failure Modes & Effects Analysis) and Root Cause Analysis * 1 or more years of working experience in a quality and/or manufacturing (fabrication and/or paint preferred) environment * Six Sigma training with either internal or ASQ credentials Education (or equivalent work experience) * Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Technology, Business, Management, or equivalent discipline What You'll Get At John Deere, you are empowered to create a career that will take you to where you want to go.
