An opportunity exists within the Patriot Fielded Systems and Validation Department in Tewksbury, Massachusetts with the Patriot Validation Test team. Patriot is the world's pre-eminent air defense system, and we are currently developing Patriot training software in support of new system capabilities. Successful candidates will work with a team of software and systems engineers to develop and test these new capabilities. Job Description: Successful candidates will work within a team of software engineers to Test and Validate new Patriot capabilities. The job location for this opportunity is in Tewksbury, MA, supporting the Patriot Missile System Software Engineering team. Tasks include analyzing Software Requirements for Testability, designing Test Cases, execution of Test Cases in a lab environment, performing data analysis on the test results and formal documentation of all test activities. The candidate shall also be able to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems with solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives. They shall work under only general direction and independently determine and develop approaches to solutions. The job requires a well-disciplined engineer who is able to thrive in a dynamic environment. This position requires extensive interaction with other groups including Systems Design engineer and the Software Development Team. In some instances, light travel may be required. Off hours testing (2 nd or 3 rd shift) occasionally may also be required. Ability to obtain a SECRET Security Clearance is required. This position can be a Salary Grade G09 or Salary Grade G10 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position. Basic Qualifications: Minimum of 6 years software validation/verification experience A thorough understanding of Software Validation processes Experience with Requirements Analysis Demonstrated experience with hardware and related software/hardware interfaces This position requires the ability to obtain a US government Secret Clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only US citizens are eligible for security clearance. Bachelor's Degree or Better in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or related engineering discipline Desired Qualifications : Active DoD clearance Master's degree in Mathematics, Science, or Engineering Ability to operate complex test equipment Prior Patriot experience Ability to recommend improvements of processes, systems, and/or products Ability to provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within the job area All these job responsibilities are to be executed in harmony with Raytheon's Code of Business Ethics and Conduct policy which sets the standard by which we operate and how we treat others.
