An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer to join BN Aviation Limited which is a subsidiary of Britten-Norman Limited, producer of one of the most successful civil aircraft ever manufactured in the UK.

Britten-Norman also manufactures a highly versatile, low cost surveillance aircraft type which is in use with a number of military and police operators world-wide including the UK’s Army Air Corps.

The Quality Engineer will be expected to provide a proactive, competent and professional approach with the Approved Maintenance Organisation and the Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation, to assure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements in accordance with BN Aviation’s approvals, develop the Quality Management System and promote measurable effectiveness and continuous improvement across the Company and to lead and drive process improvements as required.

Primary tasks
Main tasks will include but are not limited to:
• Internal auditing to ensure that processes needed for the Quality Management System are implemented and maintained to meet:
o EASA part 145 approval
o CAMO (Part M Sub Part G)
o Imposed requirements by the customer
o ISO9001:2015
• Audit and monitor performance of suppliers and sub-contractors
• Maintain a Regulatory Compliance register and conduct monthly audits iaw the Quality Management System

Key skills and attributes:
• Communication: Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills with ability to retain composure and flexibility under pressure
• Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and outlook
• Organisation: Ability to multi-task and to determine and manage priorities to meet multiple deadlines
• Team Working: Effective in a team and as an individual. Precise, accurate and meticulousness. Reliable, pro-active and self-confident.

Minimum qualifications requirements:
• 5 GCSEs (to include maths and English) at grade C or above
• BTEC National Diploma or equivalent in Aeronautical/Avionic Engineering discipline, or Safety/Risk management discipline
• Internal Auditor qualification
• Formal EASA part 145 and part M training

Required experience:
• Experience in the generation of Quality Plans and planning of Quality Assurance tasks including the preparation of PowerPoint Presentations in order to present clear and concise quality data.
• Demonstrable relevant and suitable experience of working within Quality Assurance or Quality Control within the aerospace industry.
